Terms & Disclaimers

Last updated:

These Terms govern your use of the Tiny Shield website (tinyshield.in) and the safety audit, consultation and baby-proofing services offered by Tiny Shield ("Tiny Shield", "we", "us"). By booking a service or using this website, you agree to these Terms.

1. Our services

Tiny Shield provides home child-safety consultations and audits (delivered by video or in person), a written report and product checklist, and, separately and optionally, the supply and installation of safety products. Installation engagements are governed by a separate service agreement and quotation, not by this page.

2. Bookings & payments

  • Services are booked and paid for in advance through our website via our payment gateway partner.
  • Prices are as shown on our Pricing page at the time of booking and are inclusive of applicable GST.
  • Your appointment is confirmed once payment is received and you receive a confirmation and calendar invite.
  • In-person audits are currently available within Bengaluru; serviceable areas may be confirmed at the time of booking.

3. Introductory offer & audit credit

Prices shown on our Pricing page are introductory rates offered for a limited period, and may be revised at any time. Bookings already confirmed are honoured at the price paid.

Under the introductory offer, and for the first 50 homes only, 50% of the fee paid for a consultation, virtual audit or in-person audit is credited against the baby-proofing package subsequently engaged from us. The credit applies once, to a single subsequent package engagement, is not transferable, is not redeemable for cash, and cannot be combined with any other offer or credit. The credit is applied to the final package invoice and is not payable in the event that no package is engaged.

4. Scope & limitations of an audit

Baby-proofing reduces the likelihood and severity of injury; it does not eliminate risk. Our recommendations are intended to mitigate hazards, not to replace active caregiving.

  • Supervision remains essential. Continuous adult supervision of the child is required at all times, including after an audit and after any products are installed.
  • Virtual audits are assessed from the walkthrough video or live video call you provide. Findings and recommendations are limited to the areas and hazards visible during that session. Concealed defects, hazards not captured on camera, and areas outside the assessed room(s) are excluded. The accuracy of our recommendations depends on the completeness and quality of the information and visual access you provide, and you are responsible for flagging any additional areas of concern before installation.
  • Our report reflects conditions observed at the time of the audit. Homes, contents and a child's abilities change over time; periodic re-assessment is recommended.

5. Limitation of liability

Our obligation is limited to the professional delivery of the audit or consultation you booked and, where applicable, the supply and professional installation of the safety products listed in the accepted proposal or quotation. We do not warrant or guarantee that your premises will be rendered completely safe or free from risk, or that any installation will prevent all accidents, injuries or mishaps.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tiny Shield shall not be liable for any injury, loss, damage, accident, mishap, claim or expense arising after completion of the services to the extent attributable to: (i) inadequate or lack of adult supervision; (ii) misuse, removal, alteration, tampering with, or improper maintenance of the installed products; (iii) normal wear and tear or deterioration; (iv) modifications to the premises, furniture or fixtures after completion; (v) hazards, defects or risks outside the assessed or agreed scope, including concealed or latent defects; (vi) inaccurate, incomplete or misleading information provided by you, or failure to disclose material facts or areas requiring assessment; (vii) acts or omissions of you, your household, visitors, contractors or other third parties; or (viii) any event beyond our reasonable control. Our aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the fees paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

6. Further disclaimers

  • No guarantee of absolute safety. No baby-proofing measure can guarantee complete safety; a degree of residual risk always remains. The home should continue to be monitored as the child grows and becomes more mobile.
  • Correct use & maintenance. Continued protection depends on products being used as intended and kept in good condition. Tampering with, removing or modifying any installed item, as well as normal wear and tear, may reduce or void its protective effect. Periodic checks are recommended.
  • Existing fixtures & surfaces. We are not responsible for pre-existing structural or furniture defects. Installation may involve adhesives or fixings; while care is taken, minor cosmetic marks, adhesive residue, paint disturbance or similar effects may remain if items are later removed. Furniture anchoring reduces, but cannot fully eliminate, the risk of tip-over under extreme force.
  • Medical emergencies. In the event of any injury, seek qualified medical assistance immediately. Baby-proofing is preventive and is not a substitute for first aid or emergency care.

7. Indemnity

You agree to hold Tiny Shield harmless against any third-party losses, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses arising out of or in connection with (i) your failure to adequately supervise the child; (ii) misuse, alteration, removal or improper maintenance of the installed products; (iii) hazards or conditions outside the assessed or agreed scope; or (iv) modifications made to the premises after completion, provided that this indemnity shall not apply to claims arising from our gross negligence, wilful misconduct or material breach.

8. Product installation & warranty

Where you engage us to supply and install safety products, the engagement is governed by a separate Home Safety Service Agreement and quotation. Workmanship and manufacturing-defect warranties (ranging from nil to 12 months depending on the package selected) are set out there. The warranty does not cover misuse, accidental damage, tampering, removal, third-party interference, or normal wear and tear.

9. Intellectual property

The report, product checklist and all website content are provided for your personal use in making your own home safer. Our checklists, methods and materials remain the intellectual property of Tiny Shield and may not be reproduced, redistributed or used commercially without written permission.

10. Rescheduling & refunds

Cancellations, rescheduling and refunds are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

11. Force majeure

Neither party shall be liable for delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, civil disruption, or government restrictions.

12. Photographs & media

With your consent, we may capture before/after photographs of installed work for our records and promotional use. No identifiable images of a child will be used without separate written consent.

13. Dispute resolution & governing law

The parties will first attempt to resolve any dispute amicably through good-faith discussions and negotiations. If the dispute is not resolved within 30 (thirty) days of written notice by either party, it shall be subject to the laws of India and the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka.
